Book one, or book both

Photography and film are two people. One shoots stills all day, the other shoots film all day, and neither switches between cameras and misses the moment. Book one discipline and you pay for one. Book both and the two prices add — a full day of photography and film is 2,490 plus 2,490 euro. Nobody is ever doubling up, and we never put more than one person on the same discipline.

What couples ask about cost

Straight answers, including the market range rather than only our own numbers.

In Salzburg and the surrounding lake country, expect 1,400 to 2,000 euro for half-day coverage, 2,200 to 3,000 euro for a full day, and 3,500 to 4,500 euro for twelve hours. Our own collections start at 1,490, 2,490 and 3,990 euro. Anything advertised far below that band is usually a beginner building a portfolio, which is a legitimate choice, just a different one.

Booking by the hour is uncommon here and usually works out worse for you. As a reference point, our extra hours beyond a collection are 390 euro. A full day assembled from extra hours would land above the collection price, because the editing work does not scale down with the shooting time.

The shooting day is roughly a third of the work. A full day generates several thousand frames, which are then culled, colour graded by hand and delivered. Add scouting, planning, insurance, backup equipment and the fact that a wedding cannot be reshot, and the day rate stops looking like a day rate.

Film is priced the same as photography here, because it is the same day of work by a different specialist. Half day from 1,490 euro, full day from 2,490 euro, twelve hours from 3,990 euro. Booking photography and film together means two people and two prices, so a full day of both is 4,980 euro.

A pre-wedding or engagement session in Hallstatt starts at 690 euro and runs two to three hours. That covers the shoot, the scouting and 60 or more edited photographs, with travel from our Salzburg base quoted on top. Most couples pair it with a sunrise slot, which is also the only time the village is quiet.

Thirty percent on placing the order confirms the date. The balance is due two weeks before the wedding. Dates are only held once the deposit has cleared, which matters for peak summer Saturdays.
