Pinzgau runs from Zell am See and Kaprun west through Mittersill toward the Hohe Tauern National Park, and it has more genuine high-altitude terrain than almost anywhere else we cover — the Kitzsteinhorn glacier above Kaprun and the Großglockner, Austria's highest peak, both sit inside the district. Weddings that use the Kitzsteinhorn cable car need a firm lift schedule built into the timing plan, since the last car down runs on a fixed clock regardless of how the light is doing. Zell am See's lake gives an easier, valley-floor alternative for the same day if the couple wants a mix of both.

Pinzgau is about 100 km one-way from Salzburg, mostly via the A10 and B311, so the round trip runs close to 200 km. At 0.50 euro per kilometre that's roughly 100 euro added to the collection price.

Weddings in Pinzgau
Zell am See and Kaprun are the couples' most common base, with the Zeller See giving lakefront portrait spots a short walk from most hotels. Further west, Mittersill and the villages toward Krimml sit right against the national park, and a few couples each year build the day around the Krimml waterfalls or the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße, which both mean an earlier start and a longer drive within the region itself, on top of the trip from Salzburg. Glacier access on the Kitzsteinhorn is weather-dependent even in summer — we always hold a valley backup plan for that shoot.

Both work in the same day if you want variety — the lake at Zell am See for an easy, low-altitude portrait session, and Kaprun or the Kitzsteinhorn if the couple wants mountain scenery. Booking the full-day collection rather than the half day is what makes combining both realistic.
