The Schladming-Dachstein area, just over the Salzburg border in the Ennstal valley, is close — under an hour and a half from our base, and still genuinely alpine, with the Dachstein glacier and its skywalk a common backdrop. Graz, the state capital, and the vineyard hills of southern Styria are a different landscape entirely — rolling, warm-toned, closer to Slovenia than to the mountains — and a different, longer drive again. We quote the real distance to your venue rather than a single average, so tell us the location early and the travel figure comes back accurate.

Weddings in Styria
Couples in the Ennstal, around Schladming and Ramsau, often build the day around the Dachstein massif — its glacier and the skywalk platform are within cable-car reach and give a mountain backdrop without a full-day hike. Further into the state, Graz's old town works well for a city wedding with none of the altitude planning an alpine one needs, and the wine hills of Südsteiermark offer a warmer, more rural look than anywhere else in this list — vineyards and rolling hills rather than peaks. Yes — the glacier and the Dachstein skywalk are reachable by cable car from Ramsau or the Schladming side, and it's one of the closer alpine venues in Styria to our base. As with any glacier shoot, we plan around lift schedules and keep a lower-altitude backup for weather.
Yes, genuinely. Südsteiermark's wine hills are a rural, rolling landscape with none of the altitude or cable-car logistics of the Ennstal or Dachstein — closer in feel to a vineyard wedding than a mountain one. Harvest season in early autumn is a popular and photogenic time to book there.
