A wedding photographer for Pongau costs the same as anywhere else we cover: 1,490 euro for a half day, 2,490 for a full day, 3,990 for twelve hours. No VAT is added. The only region-specific number is travel, and in Pongau that number is small.
Pongau is the district directly south of Salzburg on the Tauernautobahn — Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Wagrain, Flachau and St. Johann im Pongau are all within about an hour's drive. A lot of weddings here involve a cable car at some point: up to the Stubnerkogel above Bad Gastein, or an Almhütte reached on foot from wherever the road stops. That means a shot list has to survive a change in altitude, and the timing plan needs a wider weather margin than a valley-floor wedding — cloud can sit on a mountain hut at 1,800 metres while the valley below is clear.

Pongau is about 70 km one-way from Salzburg on the A10, so the round trip is roughly 140 km. At 0.50 euro per kilometre that comes to about 70 euro — the lowest travel figure we quote outside Salzburg itself.

Weddings in Pongau
Couples here often split the day between a valley church — Bad Hofgastein or St. Johann im Pongau are common — and an alm higher up for the reception, sometimes reached by cable car or a short hike rather than by car. The Gasteinertal in particular has a run of thermal-spa villages (Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein) that make a good base for a multi-day wedding weekend, and Filzmoos is popular for its open view of the Bischofsmütze. Because it's an hour from our base, we can usually scout in person before booking rather than working from photos alone.

Not much. At 0.50 euro per kilometre for the round trip, Pongau adds about 70 euro to the collection price — less than an hour each way up the A10. Compare that to 270 euro for the far side of Styria.
Yes, and we do it often here — Pongau has more cable-car-accessible venues than most regions we cover. The practical limits are the last cable car or lift time down and how much gear can realistically go up with you; we plan both before the day, not on it.
Winter weddings happen here more than in most regions, because Pongau is ski country with infrastructure built for the cold — heated venues, cleared roads, and villages that don't shut down between seasons. Late spring can be unpredictable at altitude, with snow lingering on the highest alms into May.
