What a wedding photographer costs for a wedding in Vienna.

The day rate is the same as everywhere we work — what changes here is the drive from Salzburg and the logistics of shooting in a capital city.

A wedding photographer for Vienna costs the same as anywhere else we cover: 1,490 euro for a half day, 2,490 for a full day, 3,990 for twelve hours, plus VAT. Photography and film are two separate people and two separate prices, so a full day of both together is 4,980 euro. What is different in Vienna is not the rate card, it is the travel and the venue mix — Vienna weddings tend to split between the Rathaus registry office, hotel ballrooms and private event spaces rather than farmhouses or lake terraces.

Vienna is flat, fast to drive and easy to plan a timeline around — the West Autobahn (A1) runs straight from Salzburg with no mountain passes to budget extra time for. The harder part is the city itself once you arrive: the first district's pedestrian zones restrict where a car can even park, and popular backdrops like the Stadtpark, the Naschmarkt or the Danube Canal get busy on weekend afternoons, so timing the portrait window around foot traffic matters more here than in the countryside.

Our prices

Photography and film are two different people and two separate prices. Book one and you pay for one. Book both and the two add together — there is no bundle discount, because it is genuinely two people working a full day.

Travel

300EUR

300 km each way · 0,50 EUR/km

Travel to Vienna is 300 euro, calculated on the actual round trip from our base in Salzburg — about 300 kilometre each way. There is no way around that distance; Vienna sits at the opposite end of Austria from us.

These are final prices. No VAT is added — this is a registered Austrian small business (Kleinunternehmer, §6 Abs 1 Z 27 UStG).

Weddings in Vienna

Vienna weddings we quote for split fairly evenly between a Standesamt ceremony at the Rathaus and a private venue reception, with couples adding portrait time in the Stadtpark, along the Donaukanal, or around the Naschmarkt. Because the first district closes large parts of itself to vehicle traffic, we plan the shot list around a walking route rather than a driving one, and weekday winter dates get us in and out with far less crowd management than a Saturday in June.

Cost questions, answered

The same as anywhere else we cover in Austria: 1,490 euro for a half day, 2,490 for a full day and 3,990 for twelve hours, plus the travel figure for Vienna. No VAT is added. Photography and film are priced and staffed separately, since they are two different people.

Yes — 300 euro, billed on the actual round trip from our base in Salzburg. That figure is quoted with your collection and does not change once agreed.

Yes. Many Vienna couples marry in a short Standesamt ceremony at the Rathaus and hold the reception elsewhere; we plan around the building's opening hours and the fact that it is a working government office, not a private venue, so timing has less flexibility than a countryside ceremony.

Nine to fourteen months is typical, and Saturday dates from May to September go first. Vienna's registry office slots also fill up separately from the venue booking, so it is worth confirming the Standesamt time before you lock in a photographer's day.
